At FIMSA, each project represents an opportunity to optimize processes and generate real value for our clients. An example is the extension of an existing conveyor for handling salt in Yucatán, where it was necessary to increase operational capacity and improve efficiency in unloading material.
The challenge
The client needed to increase their transport and unloading capacity while maintaining the existing infrastructure and ensuring operational continuity. This implied not only expanding the system but also making key adjustments to structural and mechanical components.
The solution
We developed a comprehensive solution that included:
- Design, supply, and manufacture of the conveyor belt structure, adapted to the specific conditions of the material (salt)
- Extension of the existing conveyor, ensuring compatibility and operational efficiency
- Modification of the existing tensioning tower, optimizing its operation
- Adaptation of the structure for the gravity take-up carriage, improving belt control and stability
- Integration of a discharge system using a telestacker from Superior Industries Inc, ideal for efficient bulk material handling
Results
Thanks to this implementation, the system currently reaches an unloading capacity of up to 5,000 tons per day, optimizing operation times and significantly improving the client’s productivity.
Material block reduction to more manageable sizes for secondary crushing or further processing stages. They are designed to work with hard, abrasive, and large materials such as: rocks, metallic minerals, and demolition waste.
