A construction sector company in Coahuila was looking to optimize the use of its materials by recovering aggregates from both clean concrete and waste blocks.
The goal was to reincorporate raw material into the production process and reduce waste.
The challenge
- Recover 7/8″ gravel, 3/8″ seal, and 3/16″ sand from clean concrete
- Leverage waste blocks to extract 3/8″ seal and 3/16″ sand
- Reduce raw material waste
- Decrease costs associated with waste disposal
- Maintain quality in recovered aggregates
The solution
A plant designed to process two types of feed was implemented:
- Clean concrete (free of non-crushable material), allowing efficient recovery of 7/8″ gravel, 3/8″ seal, and 3/16″ sand.
- Waste blocks, to recover 3/8″ seal and 3/16″ sand and reincorporate them into the manufacturing process.
The system was configured to ensure proper classification, efficient separation, and constant quality in the recovered materials.
Results
The plant allowed for the recovery of aggregates with controlled particle size ready for reuse.
Achieved:
- Reincorporating raw material into the production process
- Reducing waste volume
- Optimizing production costs
- Improving overall operation efficiency
Impact for the operation
With this solution, the company turned waste into value, strengthening its circular economy model and reducing reliance on new raw materials.
The plant demonstrated that it is possible to recover and reuse materials without compromising final product quality.
At FIMSA, we develop comprehensive solutions for crushing, classification, and aggregate recovery, adapted to the real needs of each operation.
