An aggregate operation needed to optimize its tertiary crushing circuit to improve the quality and consistency of its final products: gravel, seal, and sand.
The goal was to increase operational efficiency, ensure controlled material dosing, and automate final loading.
The challenge
- Improve feeding of the tertiary circuit
- Obtain final products with controlled particle size
- Reduce production variations
- Optimize internal material flow
- Automate finished product loading
The solution
We developed a comprehensive redesign of the plant, including:
- Design and configuration of the tertiary circuit
- Strategic integration of conveyor belts
- Installation of a conveyor belt and reclaiming tunnel to control the feed to the tertiary circuit
- Implementation of three reclaiming tunnels for automatic loading of final products
The reclaiming tunnel regulated feed to the process, achieving constant and stable flow. This translated into better performance of the tertiary equipment and greater uniformity in products.
Meanwhile, the automatic loading system optimized operating times and reduced manual intervention in the final stage.
Results
The optimization achieved:
- Greater stability in the tertiary circuit
- Consistent production of gravel, seal, and sand
- Better control in feed dosing
- Reduction of downtime in material loading
- Increase in overall plant efficiency
Impact for the operation
With this upgrade, the plant transitioned from an operation with variations and manual processes to a more controlled, automated, and efficient system.
Proper dosing and continuous material flow strengthened the tertiary circuit’s performance and ensured constant quality in final products.
At FIMSA, we design and optimize complete plants, integrating engineering, conveyor belts, and material handling systems that maximize productivity.
